Ioan Bejenaru received his Ph.D. in Mathematics from UC Berkeley in 2003. Since then he hold the following positions: Hedrick Assistant Professor at UCLA from 2004-2007, Assistant Professor at Texas A&M from 2007-2008 and Assistant Professor at University of Chicago from 2008-2012. He joined UCSD in 2012.

Bejenaru's research interests are in the field of Nonlinear Partial Differential Equations and Harmonic Analysis.

His research covers a variety of topics: nonlinear Schroedinger equations, systems of dispersive equations, geometric partial differential equations and stability of solitons.
